Deadly Israeli onslaught on Gaza enters day 319 amid crippling blockade of food, clean water, medicine

ANKARA: At least 10 Palestinians have been killed and several others injured in a series of Israeli overnight airstrikes and artillery attacks across the Gaza Strip. The latest fatalities mark day 319 of the ongoing Israeli military offensive, which has continued despite international calls for a ceasefire.

According to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa, the attacks include an Israeli airstrike on a home belonging to the Abu Zeid family in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, which resulted in six deaths and multiple injuries. Another airstrike targeted a vehicle in northern Rafah city, killing four Palestinians. Additionally, Israeli artillery struck various locations, including central and western areas of Rafah city, as well as northwestern regions of the Nuseirat refugee camp and eastern Deir al-Balah city.

In Khan Younis, Israeli tank fire injured five Palestinians in the al-Mawasi area, which is densely populated with displaced individuals. Despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire, the Israeli military offensive has persisted, leading to significant civilian casualties. Reports from local health authorities indicate that over 40,130 Palestinians have been killed and more than 92,740 injured since the onset of the conflict.

The ongoing blockade has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis, leaving Gaza in devastation and severely limiting access to essential supplies such as food, clean water, and medicine. The International Court of Justice has condemned Israel’s actions, labeling them as genocide and ordering an immediate halt to military operations in the southern city of Rafah. This city had previously become a refuge for over 1 million Palestinians seeking safety from the violence before its invasion on May 6.
