GWADAR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Composite Circle Gwadar carried out a major operation, arresting 14 individuals involved in illegally travelling to Iran via sea routes.
The arrested suspects hail from various districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Four of them are from Gujranwala, two from Faisalabad and Hafizabad, five from Lower Dir, while the remaining three come from different areas of Swabi, Mardan, and Malakand. The arrests were made in the vicinity of Jiwani.
Initial investigations indicate that the suspects were attempting to travel from Pakistan to Iran illegally, with plans to move onward to other countries from there. Cases have been registered against the individuals, who are now under investigation.
Authorities confirmed that a wider crackdown is ongoing against human smuggling and illegal border crossings, with all available resources being deployed to apprehend those involved.
