RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces killed at least 15 terrorists linked to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) in two separate intelligence-based operations in Balochistan on Thursday, March 5, 2025, the military said.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted in Harnai district after reports of the presence of “Khwarij ex Fitna al Khwarij.” During the operation, troops engaged the hideout and, following an intense exchange of fire, 12 Indian-sponsored Khwarij were killed.
Another intelligence-based operation in Basima district targeted terrorists belonging to “Fitna al Hindustan.” After a heavy gunfight, three Indian-sponsored terrorists were neutralized. Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the slain operatives, who were reportedly involved in numerous acts of terrorism.
Sanitisation operations continue in both districts to eliminate any remaining Indian-backed terrorists. The military reaffirmed that its counter-terrorism campaign under vision ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ will continue at full pace to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the ongoing ‘Ghazab Lil Haq’ operation entered its ninth day on Saturday, with ground and aerial actions against the Afghan Taliban and “Fitna al Khwarij.” Security sources said the campaign has inflicted heavy losses on Taliban operatives, forcing them into retreat. Since the start of the operation, 527 Taliban operatives have been killed, over 755 injured, and 237 check posts destroyed.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the armed forces for their successful operations in Harnai and Basima, calling the elimination of 15 Indian-sponsored terrorists a testament to the professionalism and resolve of Pakistan’s security forces. Both leaders stressed that eradicating terrorism remains the country’s top priority and affirmed the nation’s full support for the armed forces.
