SHAHEED BENAZIRABAD: The 15th academic convocation of Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology, Nawabshah, was held at the university’s Multipurpose Hall, marking a milestone in the institution’s academic journey. Provincial Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ismail Rahu, attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
During the event, he distributed degrees and gold medals to position-holding students across various departments. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Rahu highlighted the Sindh government’s serious efforts to promote higher education and align provincial universities with modern academic standards.
Minister praised the university’s role in producing skilled professionals in the field of engineering and urged students to adopt diligence, integrity, and professional excellence, emphasizing the pivotal role of educated youth in national development. The minister also congratulated the parents and faculty for the students’ achievements.
The convocation was attended by Member of Sindh Assembly Ghulam Qadir Chandio, Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Division Shahmeer Khan Bhutto, Director Information Muhammad Musa Gondal, Mayor Qazi Muhammad Rasheed Bhatti, Mir Muhammad Siyal, Vice Chancellor IBA Sukkur Dr. Asif Ahmed Sheikh, Vice Chancellor Peoples Medical University Professor Dr. Gulshan Memon, Chairman Shaheed Benazirabad Educational Board Dr. Asif Ali Memon, SSP Shabbir Ahmed Sethar, President Chamber of Commerce Dr. Muhammad Ayub, along with faculty members, deans, teachers, students, and their parents.
Degrees were awarded to 591 students from the 2020 and 2021 batches across multiple programs, including 13 PhDs, 9 Master of Engineering, 21 Master of Science, 354 Bachelor of Engineering, and 194 Bachelor of Science students. During the ceremony, 16 students received gold medals, 44 received silver medals, and numerous others were awarded merit certificates for their academic excellence.
