MIAN CHANNU: Olympian Arshad Nadeem and his family received a heartfelt visit from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz at their home in a village near his hometown of Mian Channu. During the visit, Chief Minister Nawaz extended her congratulations to Nadeem’s mother, Razia Parveen, and celebrated Nadeem’s remarkable achievements at the Olympics.
In recognition of his success, Chief Minister Nawaz presented Nadeem with a cheque for Rs100 million and a car, which came with a personalized number plate reading “PAK 92 97” to commemorate his record-setting 92.97-meter throw. The occasion was marked by a gesture of further appreciation as Nawaz also awarded Rs5 million to Nadeem’s javelin throw coach, Salman Iqbal Butt, for his role in Nadeem’s accomplishments.
During her visit, Maryam Nawaz praised Arshad Nadeem for bringing immense pride to Pakistan, highlighting his contributions to the nation’s sports legacy. Nadeem’s father expressed profound gratitude for the honor, emphasizing the significance of the Chief Minister’s visit to their family. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Sports Minister Faisal Ayub Khokhar, Special Assistant Zeeshan Malik, and other officials. The visit underscored the provincial government’s recognition and support for exceptional sporting achievements.
