KARACHI: Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani has called for a renewed commitment to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, emphasizing that the celebration of Independence Day should be accompanied by concrete efforts to realize the founder’s dream. Speaking at a flag-hoisting ceremony held at the KDA central office, Ghani underscored that despite 77 years of independence, Pakistan has yet to fully embody Jinnah’s vision for the nation.
Ghani lamented that the nation has deviated from Jinnah’s ideals. “On this Independence Day, we must ask ourselves whether we have succeeded in realizing Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s dreams. Personally, I believe we are still far from achieving his vision,” Ghani stated. He highlighted that Jinnah envisioned a united and free country, transcending divisions of color, creed, and language. However, Ghani noted, the nation remains divided along these lines. He urged for a collective effort to overcome personal interests and work towards a prosperous Pakistan.
Additionally, Ghani and KDA DG Syed Shujaat Hussain planted a sapling at the Civic Center lawn as part of the event’s environmental initiative. The ceremony concluded with the cutting of a cake to celebrate Independence Day. The event was attended by numerous officials and employees, including KDA Secretary Behzad Amir Memon, Director Finance Muhammad Kashif Siddiqui, and others. The ceremony served as a reminder of the ongoing need to align national efforts with the foundational principles laid out by Pakistan’s founder.
