ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of Tajikistan in Islamabad organized the “Tajikistan — Pakistan Roadshow” on Friday, an event aimed at showcasing the tourism potential of Tajikistan to Pakistani stakeholders. The event was attended by Tajikistan’s Ambassador, Yusuf Sharifzoda, and management from the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, alongside representatives from Tajikistan’s travel agencies and over 150 professionals from Pakistan’s tourism sector.

The gathering brought together nearly seventy travel companies, tour operators, airlines, local media outlets, and diplomatic mission representatives from Central Asian countries. The event was also graced by the presence of Atadjan Movlamov, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps. During the roadshow, the Tajik delegation highlighted the tourism opportunities in their country, emphasizing Tajikistan’s rich cultural and natural attractions.

These agreements aim to foster closer ties between the two nations’ tourism industries, with Pakistani companies being invited to participate in the Travel Market in Tajikistan, scheduled for late September 2024. Umedjon Saidzoda, General Director of Somon Travel LLC, expressed optimism about the future of tourism in Tajikistan, citing the country’s growing success in the international tourism arena. He remarked that the roadshow provided an excellent opportunity for participants to learn about the diverse tourist attractions in Tajikistan.

Saidzoda also shared that from August 8 to August 15, representatives of various Tajik travel agencies visited Pakistan, engaging in business meetings with both public and private tourism entities across the country. These discussions focused on tourism development, joint project initiatives, and the organization of mutual information tours for travel companies, bloggers, and media representatives.
