PESHAWAR: The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, has underscored the urgent need to address unemployment in the province by finalizing and implementing key socio-economic initiatives. During a recent meeting with relevant provincial departments, the Chief Minister directed the immediate rollout of the Ehsaas Naujwan Rozgar, Ehsaas Hunar, and Ehsaas Rozgar Programs.
These initiatives aim to provide interest-free loans and support to the youth and low-income households, helping them to establish or expand businesses and secure affordable housing. A particular focus was placed on the “Ehsas Apna Ghar Program,” which will offer interest-free loans of up to 1.5 million rupees to low-income individuals for the construction of new homes, renovation, or purchasing apartments. The Chief Minister emphasized that these programs must be implemented transparently, ensuring that each district receives its fair share based on population and merit, without political bias.
The meeting, attended by cabinet members and senior officials, also reviewed the pilot project under the Ehsaas Naujawan Rozgar Scheme, which will provide soft loans of up to ten million rupees for individuals with viable business plans. Additionally, the Ehsaas Rozgar Scheme will offer interest-free loans of up to Rs 200,000 for small business startups, while the Ehsaas Hunar Program will support graduates from technical and vocational institutions with loans of up to Rs 500,000 to establish their own enterprises.
The Chief Minister emphasized that these initiatives are crucial for transforming the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from job seekers into job creators, thereby addressing the province’s unemployment challenges and improving socio-economic conditions, especially in remote and underserved areas.
