Addressing the issue of unrest in Balochistan, Dar called for peaceful resolutions to local grievances and condemned terrorism as an unacceptable response to discontent

PAKISTAN: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized the pivotal role of Pakistan’s youth in shaping the country’s economic future during a Youth Convention held in Islamabad. Dar expressed confidence in Pakistan’s potential to become a leading economic power, drawing on its exceptional educational and innovative capabilities.
Addressing a gathering of vice-chancellors, students, and educationists, Dar highlighted the necessity of unified efforts and continuous learning. He urged the youth to capitalize on educational opportunities both inside and outside the classroom, and to explore emerging technologies and new avenues for growth. Dar underscored Pakistan’s strategic advantages, including its status as a nuclear power, which he believes positions the country to lead the Muslim Ummah.
He criticized global powers that, according to him, aim to undermine Pakistan’s progress through indirect means rather than direct confrontation. Reflecting on the economic achievements during the 2013-2018 PML-N government, Dar noted that Pakistan was on the path to becoming a member of the G-20 nations, with low inflation and robust growth. He stated that the current PDM government’s focus is on preventing a potential default and safeguarding the nation’s interests.
Addressing the issue of unrest in Balochistan, Dar called for peaceful resolutions to local grievances and condemned terrorism as an unacceptable response to discontent. He stressed the need for unity and the rejection of extremism and personal biases. The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted government efforts to empower youth through the Special Investment Facilitation Council, aiming to foster investment in education, skill development, and technology.
