BUZI LUK: A tragic accident occurred on the Makran Coastal Highway near Buzi Luk, where a bus transporting pilgrims from Iran plunged into a ravine, resulting in the deaths of 12 individuals. The bus, which was en route from Iran, reportedly suffered brake failure before veering off the highway and into the ravine. The deceased are reported to be from Lahore and Gujranwala.

According to Edhi rescue sources, 35 other passengers were injured in the incident and were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Rescue teams arrived promptly to retrieve the bodies and assist the injured. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed profound sorrow over the loss of lives and extended her condolences to the grieving families, while also praying for the swift recovery of the injured.

This incident comes just days after a similar tragedy in Iran, where another bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims was involved in an accident. That crash, which occurred in the central province of Yazd, resulted in 35 fatalities and 15 injuries. The pilgrims in that incident were from Larkana, Sindh. Iranian state television reported that the bus, carrying 51 Pakistani pilgrims, overturned and caught fire in front of the Dehshir-Taft checkpoint.

In response to these tragedies, both Iranian and Pakistani foreign ministries have extended their condolences to the families of the deceased. Pakistan’s Foreign Office has requested that the Consul of Pakistan in Zahedan visit the accident site to provide medical relief to the injured and facilitate the repatriation of the deceased back to Pakistan.
