CM Bugti assures kinetic operations in Balochistan

CM Bugti reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to upholding the state’s authority and vowed to stand with the oppressed while combating the perpetrators of violence

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo Bugti has assured that targeted smart kinetic operations will be conducted against those responsible for violence in the province. Addressing a press conference on Sunday, CM Bugti emphasized the importance of correct terminology in addressing the issue of violence, rejecting the term “disgruntled Baloch” for those involved in terrorism.

“These individuals are not disgruntled Baloch; they are terrorists,” Bugti stated, referencing a previous declaration by the provincial assembly under former Chief Minister Quddus Bizenjo. He stressed that the misuse of terminology must be reversed to accurately reflect the nature of the threat. CM Bugti reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to upholding the state’s authority and vowed to stand with the oppressed while combating the perpetrators of violence.

“The country cannot be handed over to mobs, nor will any ideology be imposed at gunpoint. We stand firmly with the people of Pakistan during these challenging times and will seek justice for the bloodshed,” he asserted. The Chief Minister highlighted the connections between terrorists and their facilitators, asserting that both will be held accountable. He claimed that these groups are funded by RAW and lack genuine nationalist motives, targeting softer targets due to their inability to confront harder ones.

Bugti also pointed out an orchestrated conspiracy aimed at undermining Pakistan’s stability. “Efforts are being made to poison the minds of the youth against the state under the guise of protests. Balochistan is the victim here, and no society can tolerate such bloodshed,” he said. On the matter of negotiations, Bugti made it clear that he is open to dialogue within the constitutional framework but questioned whether it is appropriate to negotiate with individuals who commit acts of terror, such as pulling people off buses and killing them.

He suggested that if necessary, operations similar to those conducted in Swat could be implemented in Balochistan. “Violence is a monopoly of the state, and while there have been governance issues, the authority of the state must be upheld,” Bugti emphasized. The Chief Minister also clarified that no large-scale operations are currently underway in Balochistan. He concluded by highlighting the role of social media in the ongoing conspiracy to weaken Pakistan, aimed at distancing the youth from the state.
