KARACHI: Karachi is set to face another day of rainfall as the port city continues to grapple with high humidity levels. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), various areas across the city are expected to see precipitation throughout the day, accompanied by a partially cloudy sky.
On Sunday, several neighborhoods, including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, University Road, and the Old Sabzi Mandi, experienced notable rainfall. This weather pattern is part of an ongoing trend that has been affecting Karachi recently. The PMD has projected that sea breezes will persist, blowing at speeds ranging from 10 to 30 kilometres per hour over the next 24 hours. These winds are expected to influence local weather conditions, potentially enhancing the impact of the rainfall.
Today, Karachi’s minimum temperature was recorded at 27°C. However, residents should brace for a significantly higher perceived temperature due to the high humidity, which can make it feel up to five degrees warmer than the actual recorded temperature. The maximum temperature is forecasted to range between 31°C and 33°C. The combination of high humidity and rainfall is likely to create uncomfortable conditions, with the potential for increased discomfort due to the humidity. Given the forecasted conditions, residents are advised to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions to manage the effects of high humidity.
It is essential to remain vigilant about personal well-being and to monitor weather advisories for any updates. High humidity levels can exacerbate the feeling of heat, making it crucial for individuals to manage their exposure to the weather conditions effectively. The ongoing combination of rain and high humidity is expected to have a notable impact on daily life in Karachi. The PMD will continue to provide updates and weather advisories to keep residents informed about any changes in the weather pattern. As always, staying informed and prepared will be key to managing the effects of the weather in Karachi.
