KARACHI: Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani emphasized the unwavering dedication of the Pakistani armed forces, highlighting their readiness to sacrifice their lives for the protection of Pakistan’s borders. His remarks came during a Defence Day program organized by the Sindh government’s Information Department on Friday.

In his speech, Saeed Ghani condemned any opposition to the military institution, equating such sentiments with support for terrorists who have been battling against the Pakistani armed forces. He urged the nation to abandon the negative mindset towards the military, stressing that criticism of the entire institution undermines the efforts of soldiers committed to safeguarding Pakistan. He praised the Pakistani armed forces, Rangers, and police for their crucial role in combating terrorism, particularly from adversaries operating from abroad.

The minister acknowledged the critical contributions of these forces in ensuring national security despite ongoing internal threats. While Ghani personally believes that the military should refrain from political interference, he asserted that it is unjust to blame the entire institution for the actions of a few individuals. He highlighted that countless soldiers are prepared to lay down their lives for the nation’s security and criticized those who use this dedication for political gain or to defame the military.

Saeed Ghani urged the audience to honor the martyrs of the armed forces and to counteract any criticism directed at military institutions with respect and support. Ghani pointed out that undermining the military only benefits anti-Pakistan forces and detracts from the sacrifices made by those in uniform. Emphasizing the need for a robust military and strong state institutions, Ghani reiterated that terrorism can only be eradicated through the effective functioning and support of these institutions.

The minister called for national unity in recognizing and respecting the efforts of the armed forces, as such respect is crucial for maintaining their readiness and morale in protecting the country. The minister’s statements reflect a strong stance on defending the military against unwarranted criticism, highlighting their vital role in national security and the importance of national solidarity in supporting them.
