RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza has embarked on an official visit to the People’s Republic of China, further solidifying the enduring partnership between the two nations. During his visit, General Mirza held significant meetings with General He Weidong, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), and General Liu Zhenli, Chief of the CMC Joint Staff Department. The discussions revolved around mutual cooperation in defence, regional stability, and the enhancement of the longstanding strategic ties between Pakistan and China.
The meetings underscored the deep-rooted and historic relationship between the two countries, a bond built on mutual respect and shared interests in multiple domains, including security, defence, and economic cooperation. Both sides reiterated their unwavering commitment to furthering the bilateral strategic cooperative partnership, with an emphasis on expanding defence cooperation. The Chinese leadership expressed their appreciation for Pakistan’s continued role in promoting peace and stability within the region, recognizing the country’s vital contribution to countering threats and fostering regional security.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza also delivered a keynote address at the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, focusing on Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and stability.
