Bilawal Bhutto points out that instead of addressing the corruption allegations, Khan has replaced the intelligence chief, which he described as part of a broader conspiracy

LAHORE: Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, has demanded that former Prime Minister Imran Khan face constitutional consequences if he is found responsible for recent statements accusing the army chief and engaging in contempt of court. Speaking in the National Assembly, Bilawal criticized Khan for his allegations against key institutions, which were made public the previous night.
Bilawal lauded his party’s Southern Punjab organization for their perseverance and resilience in countering misinformation through democratic means, emphasizing the power of the vote. He urged all political parties to accept election results and trust the democratic process, warning against the propagation of conspiracies and abusive rhetoric. Referring to Khan as “Prisoner 804,” Bilawal claimed that the former Prime Minister is increasingly isolated in his political stance. He called on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party to investigate whether Khan was indeed behind the controversial statements.
Bilawal also criticized attempts to politicize the appointment of the army chief, citing General Asim Munir’s previous role as Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), where he allegedly exposed corruption linked to Khan. He pointed out that instead of addressing the corruption allegations, Khan had replaced the intelligence chief, which he described as part of a broader conspiracy. This included rejecting the no-confidence motion, pushing for early elections before the army chief’s appointment, and attempting to discredit the position. Bilawal warned of forthcoming revelations concerning the controversy surrounding Forms 45 and 47 and urged PTI to reflect on how Khan’s actions are contributing to instability both within the party and the nation.
Federal Interior Minister Attaullah Tarar supported Bilawal’s stance, accusing Imran Khan of reverting to seditionist practices through social media posts. Tarar condemned Khan’s actions as attempts to incite anarchy and undermine national integrity. He announced that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) would launch an investigation into the PTI founder for inciting unrest and would determine whether the posts were made at Khan’s direction or by someone else.
