KARACHI: Senior leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P), Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani, visited Hawksbay Mangroves today to oversee the preparations for the ongoing tree plantation campaign. As a central figure in MQM-P and a member of the party’s central committee, Qaimkhani was accompanied by prominent figures such as Haq Parast Member of Provincial Assembly Faheem Patni, along with other organizational leaders, including the Town Organizer of Baldia Town.
The visit aimed to review and finalize the designated areas for the upcoming plantation drive, a critical part of MQM-P’s “Green Karachi” initiative. Qaimkhani issued clear directives to ensure all preparations for the campaign were in place, emphasizing the importance of active involvement from MQM-P workers, as well as the local public.
In his address, Qaimkhani underscored the significance of the campaign in enhancing Karachi’s green cover, particularly in the context of combating climate change. “The Hawksbay Mangroves are vital for our city’s ecological health, and it is the responsibility of every citizen to contribute to this noble cause,” he stated, encouraging residents of Baldia Town to take up the call for action by planting trees in their communities.
Anis Qaimkhani reiterated that such environmental efforts were crucial for creating a sustainable and healthier urban environment in Karachi. The plantation campaign is a reflection of MQM-P’s commitment to addressing both environmental and civic challenges in the metropolis, with the goal of fostering a greener and more eco-friendly Karachi. Qaimkhani’s visit marks an important step in bolstering public engagement and collaboration towards a greener future for the city.
