ISLAMABAD: Senator Faisal Vawda has raised serious allegations regarding the recent release of Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, suggesting it is part of a pre-arranged deal. In an interview with a private television channel on Thursday, Vawda asserted, “Bushra Bibi is being freed 100 percent as part of a deal, and this is all part of the plan.”
Vawda went on to accuse senior PTI leaders of conspiring against Khan, claiming that they had led him into a precarious situation. He noted that several key party figures, including Ali Amin Gandapur, had vanished during pivotal moments. “The majority of PTI members are siding with the government and deceiving the party’s founder. They conspired against him, and Imran Khan knows they have sold out,” Vawda added, revealing that Khan’s jail meetings are set to commence on October 27.
In contrast, Barrister Gohar, the PTI Chairman, defended Bushra Bibi’s release after nine months of incarceration. Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, he praised her resilience and commitment to Khan’s ideology. “We salute her courage and congratulate all PTI voters and supporters. Khan sahib will also be released soon,” he asserted.
Gohar argued that Bushra’s imprisonment was a tactic to exert pressure on Khan, but he remains confident about the founder’s eventual release, asserting it will occur on merit. He dismissed the claims of a deal as baseless, stating, “If that were the case, she wouldn’t be in jail.” Bushra Bibi was granted bail in the Toshakhana 2.0 case, leading to her release from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, which saw an increase in security personnel during the event.
