Sharjeel Memon insisted that the recent 26th Constitutional Amendment was achieved through significant consultation, and claimed that PTI had previously shown a positive attitude towards it

By our correspondent

ISLAMABAD: In a press conference held in Karachi, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon delivered a pointed critique of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), linking its recent negative social media campaigns against the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to broader conspiratorial narratives he dubbed “Mission Israel” and “Mission Goldsmith.” Memon asserted that the political landscape in Pakistan has reached a decisive moment after a prolonged period of turmoil, urging a shift in focus toward public welfare and relief initiatives, as directed by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former President Asif Ali Zardari.

Highlighting the proactive measures undertaken by the Sindh government, Memon noted that Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated six developmental schemes in a single day, including the complete solarization of Karachi Central Jail. He praised Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah for his efforts in expanding solar projects across various districts, which aim to provide sustainable energy solutions for government hospitals, 656 schools, and 211 rural health centers. The initiative is set to benefit around 200,000 families in Sindh, ensuring they will be exempt from utility bills for life, a testament to the PPP’s commitment to improving the lives of its constituents.

Memon lamented that while the media often emphasizes negativity, it overlooks the constructive efforts being made on the ground. He referenced the issuance of a labor card by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, which follows the rollout of a workers’ card during the previous government. Memon insisted that the recent 26th Constitutional Amendment was achieved through significant consultation, and claimed that PTI had previously shown a positive attitude towards it. Amidst this backdrop, Memon accused PTI of launching a calculated campaign against the judiciary, stating that the PPP has always held the judiciary in high regard, despite facing judicial bias.

Sharjeel Memon characterized PTI’s online activities as part of a coordinated effort to undermine Pakistan, cautioning the public against being misled by what he described as PTI’s “digital terrorism.” He clarified that while he respects the rank-and-file PTI workers, they may be unaware of the broader implications of their leader’s agenda, asserting that Imran Khan’s actions align more closely with those of the Israeli government rather than serving the interests of Pakistan. In closing, Memon reinforced the notion that Pakistan’s status as a nuclear power will not be swayed by PTI’s divisive tactics.
