KARACHI: Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the Chairman of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), recently issued a passionate condemnation of the longstanding, 77-year brutal occupation of Kashmir by Indian forces, expressing unwavering solidarity with the Kashmiri people. His statement comes amidst a global backdrop where numerous nations are increasingly focusing on technological advancements and the exploration of universal truths, highlighting the stark contradiction in allowing millions to be deprived of their fundamental right to self-determination.
In his remarks, Dr. Siddiqui articulated a powerful critique of the Indian government’s actions, asserting that the ongoing occupation not only undermines the principles of justice and human rights but also directly contradicts India’s self-proclaimed identity as a secular state. He pointed out that while India presents itself as a nation committed to democracy and secularism, the reality on the ground tells a different story—one marked by the economic and educational exploitation of the Kashmiri populace.
Dr. Siddiqui likened India’s defiance to a “powerful slap” on the faces of global peacekeepers, suggesting that the situation reflects not just a violation of international law, but also a profound challenge to the legitimacy of international efforts aimed at fostering peace and stability in the region.
