SUKKUR: In a commendable display of law enforcement’s commitment to public safety, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Larkana and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shikarpur, Shahzeb Chachar, responded swiftly to a viral video that depicted the harrowing ordeal of kidnapped children. In the video, the kidnappers threatened to throw the children into the Indus River if a ransom of 5 million rupees was not paid. Taking immediate action, the police launched a targeted operation in the Katcha area of Gharhi Tego, located near Khanpur in the Shikarpur district.
This focused effort led to the successful recovery of the two children, Waleed Memon and Nasir Bakhrani, who had been in captivity for 25 days. Alongside the rescue of the children, the operation also resulted in the recovery of a police officer, showcasing the effectiveness of the intelligence-based operation conducted by law enforcement.
Following their rescue, the children were reunited with their relieved parents, who expressed immense gratitude for the successful intervention. The local community and civil society members rallied to praise the efforts of DIG Larkana, Nasir Aftab Pathan, and SSP Shikarpur, showering them with flowers as a gesture of appreciation for their dedicated work in recovering the children and ensuring their safe return.
