ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to embark on a diplomatic mission to Saudi Arabia and Qatar this week, with the aim of bolstering Pakistan’s international relations and presenting the country’s climate initiatives. He will first travel to Riyadh, where he will attend the Riyadh Investment Forum 2024. This forum is expected to serve as a platform for fostering investment opportunities and collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Following his engagement in Riyadh, the Prime Minister will head to Qatar on October 31. Discussions during this visit will likely focus on enhancing bilateral ties and exploring avenues for economic cooperation. Sharif’s trip underscores Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its relationships in the Gulf region, which is pivotal for economic growth and stability.
Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif will represent Pakistan at the upcoming Conference of the Parties (COP 29), scheduled to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, on November 11. This year’s conference is particularly significant as Pakistan plans to showcase its top ten climate-focused startups, which are poised to address critical environmental challenges, including greenhouse gas emissions.
Through these initiatives, Pakistan seeks to position itself as a proactive player in global climate discussions and investment opportunities, addressing both environmental challenges and economic development.
