ISLAMABAD: Balochistan is currently engaged in a crucial anti-polio campaign, now in its third day, aiming to vaccinate millions of children against the disease.
The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has set an ambitious target to administer polio vaccinations to 2.65 million children across the province. In addition to the polio vaccine, the campaign also includes the administration of vitamin A drops to enhance children’s immunity. Alarmingly, the province has reported 21 polio cases this year, underscoring the urgent need for vaccination efforts to prevent the disease from spreading further. Local health authorities are mobilizing resources to ensure the campaign reaches remote and underserved areas.
