MUMBAI: Mumbai Police have arrested a 56-year-old man accused of threatening Bollywood actor Salman Khan and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Zeeshan Siddiqui. The man, identified as Azam, allegedly demanded INR 20 million to prevent the targeted killing of Khan and Siddiqui, according to Indian media sources.
Azam reportedly sent the threats via a WhatsApp message to the Mumbai Traffic Police helpline, ominously hinting that the victims would face the same fate as Baba Siddiqui, who was killed on October 12 in Bandra. Police traced the suspect through call detail records, arresting him and recovering his mobile phone and SIM card.
Azam allegedly warned, “This is not a joke. Tell Salman Khan and Zeeshan Siddiqui to pay INR 20 million by October 31, or they will meet their end.” His threats referenced the recent killing of Baba Siddiqui, claimed by the Bishnoi Group, who reportedly stated that anyone associating with Salman Khan would face similar consequences.
