SUKKUR: In a concerted effort to address pressing issues affecting Sindh, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Sindh chapter has announced plans to convene an all-parties conference (APC) in Karachi. This decision was reached during a significant meeting held on Wednesday at the provincial JUI-F office in Sukkur, chaired by Secretary General Rashid Mahmood Soomro. The conference aims to tackle critical concerns surrounding the alleged appropriation of water resources, rising pollution levels, and the deteriorating law and order situation in the province.
The gathering of JUI-F and office bearers from the Sukkur and Larkana divisions concluded that the conference would specifically address encroachments on the Indus River and the construction of six illegal canals. Maulana Rashid Mahmood Soomro emphasized that the party would not permit the illegal canal construction, asserting that these actions threaten the vital water supply and the ecological balance of the region.
Furthermore, he condemned the rise of extremism and its associated disorder, emphasizing the need for a united front to restore peace. Among those present at the meeting were provincial Amir Abdul Qayyum Halejivi, Maulana Nasir Mahmood Soomro, Syed Siraj Ahmad Shah Amruti, and several other influential leaders within the JUI-F.
