LAHORE: Veteran Pakistani actor Firdous Jamal has addressed rumors regarding his personal life in a recent interview, clarifying the reasons behind his decision to live alone and denying any divorce claims.
Jamal, who has been married for 35 years and is now a grandfather, stated, “Why would I divorce my wife at this age?” He dismissed the circulating rumors as mere gossip and expressed confusion over his son’s (Hamza Firdous) comments regarding his living situation.
He further clarified that it is not true that he left his comfortable home for a dilapidated rental property to gain sympathy. Jamal explained that he prefers not to be a burden on anyone, which is why he chooses to live alone. While he does live in a rented place, he also owns a home that he built himself with his sons’ help.
He emphasized that his family lives comfortably in their home, while he enjoys solitude to immerse himself in his acting roles, stating that such peace is not possible while living with family. Jamal added that he has no intention of being a burden at his age, and he has successfully completed his education independently. He reassured that his relationships with family members are good, but he values his independence and solitude.
