PITTSBURGH: At a campaign rally in Pittsburgh, former President Donald Trump warned that, if elected, he would impose tariffs on Mexico and China unless both nations take decisive action to halt the flow of fentanyl into the United States. Trump, a leading Republican presidential candidate, pledged to aggressively tackle drug trafficking along the U.S.-Mexico border.
“We will immediately stop the drugs pouring across our border,” Trump declared, proposing a 25% tariff on goods from Mexico and similar measures for Chinese imports linked to fentanyl exports. He asserted that such tariffs would compel both countries to act swiftly against drug trafficking, claiming, “Those drugs will stop so damn fast that your head will spin.”
Trump also reiterated his intention to mass deport migrants from the U.S. if he secures the presidency.
