ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his congratulations to Donald Trump on his re-election as President of the United States, calling the win a “historic victory” that marks Trump’s second term. In a Twitter post, Shehbaz expressed his optimism about a productive relationship between Pakistan and the US, stating, “I look forward to working closely with the incoming administration to further strengthen and broaden the Pakistan-US partnership.” His statement reflects the Pakistan government’s intent to deepen bilateral ties under Trump’s renewed leadership.

Similarly, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari joined in congratulating Trump, describing his victory as a “resounding” endorsement by the American people. In a tweet, Bilawal mentioned prominent allies of Trump, tagging individuals like Elon Musk, J.D. Vance, Robert Kennedy Jr., and Tulsi Gabbard, and framed the win as an “anti-war mandate” that could potentially steer the US toward prioritizing peace and de-escalating international conflicts.

Bilawal conveyed hope that the Trump administration’s return might usher in a period of more stable global relations. He emphasized his belief that this administration could play a role in fostering a less conflict-driven international landscape, reflecting a sentiment of optimism from Pakistani leaders about future collaborations with the US under Trump’s renewed leadership.
