KARACHI: The investigation into the suicide bombing near Karachi’s airport has made notable advancements, with crucial arrests and emerging evidence shedding light on the perpetrators and the attack’s planning. A CCTV image of the vehicle used in the bombing has surfaced, showing a dark-colored double cabin truck, which was identified as carrying the suicide bomber and his female accomplice. The female facilitator was later apprehended in Balochistan, a key breakthrough in the investigation.
Authorities have arrested several individuals associated with the bomber, and the investigation continues. Among the seized items were a suicide jacket and explosive materials, suggesting further plans for violence were in the works. In addition, one of the arrested facilitators is believed to have been involved in a shooting incident in Karachi’s SITE area, in which foreign nationals were targeted.
The suicide bombing occurred on the night of October 6, when the bomb-laden vehicle rammed into a convoy of foreign nationals near the Karachi airport signal. The deadly attack claimed the lives of two foreign nationals and injured 17 others. The authorities are intensifying their efforts to uncover the full extent of the network behind the attack and prevent further incidents.
