KARACHI: In a swift police operation in Karachi’s Lyari Baghdadi area, a woman has been arrested for stealing 20 tolas of gold from her neighbor’s house. The theft, which had left the local community in shock, was uncovered when police launched an investigation following a report from the victim.
The police learned that the suspect had stolen the gold and were able to apprehend her after conducting a raid. The woman’s arrest was part of a broader effort to bring justice to those affected by the crime. A formal case of gold theft has been registered at the Baghdadi police station, with additional inquiries ongoing.
Further investigation revealed that the woman’s husband was also implicated in the crime. The husband reportedly confessed to the authorities that the theft had been carried out by his wife, providing crucial information that led to her capture. During the investigation, the police were able to recover 3 tolas of the stolen gold, as well as 1.5 million rupees. However, it was disclosed that the woman had already sold off 17 tolas of the stolen gold, raising concerns about the possibility of further accomplices or other individuals involved in the transaction.
The case highlights a disturbing trend of theft within close-knit communities and underscores the importance of vigilance and cooperation between the public and law enforcement in addressing criminal activity. The authorities are continuing their investigation to ascertain whether any other individuals were complicit in the crime and to recover the remaining stolen items.
