KARACHI: Pakistani actress Zara Noor Abbas has sparked controversy with her comments about the drama industry, leading to widespread criticism online.
During a recent Ramadan transmission alongside her husband, actor Asad Siddiqui, Zara stated that Pakistan’s entertainment sector is too small to be called an industry and should instead be considered a “community.” She argued that a true industry values and recognizes all contributors to the craft.
In contrast, host and actor Danish Taimoor defended the drama industry, praising its rapid growth in recent years.
A clip of their discussion has since gone viral on social media, drawing criticism from netizens. Many users accused Zara of lacking acting skills and relying on her influential family members, including her aunt Bushra Ansari and mother Asma Abbas, for roles.
