KARACHI: Sohail University’s Office of the Registrar organized an anti-drug awareness session for students, faculty, and staff, in collaboration with the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Sindh. The session aimed to educate attendees about the dangers of drug addiction while reinforcing the importance of prevention and rehabilitation.
Speakers from ANF Sindh, including Inspector Umer Sana and Clinical Psychologist Dr. Maaz Taimoor, provided in-depth insights into ANF Pakistan’s role in drug prevention, law enforcement, and rehabilitation. Dr. Taimoor discussed the various types of drugs and their devastating effects on both mental and physical health, shedding light on the psychological and social consequences of addiction.

To bolster awareness efforts, ANF distributed educational material among students, equipping them with essential information on drug prevention strategies and available support mechanisms. The team also highlighted their social media platforms, digital awareness campaigns, and the ANF helpline (1415), urging individuals to report drug-related activities and seek assistance when needed.
As a gesture of recognition, Dr. Asma Tabassum, Director ORIC at Sohail University, presented souvenirs to the distinguished guests. She also acknowledged the contributions of Hammad, Drug Demand Reduction Officer and Focal Person of the Regional Directorate ANF Sindh, along with his team, for their dedication to the cause.

The session concluded with an Anti-Drug Awareness Walk, a symbolic demonstration of the university community’s collective commitment to combating drug abuse and fostering a healthier, drug-free society. Sohail University remains steadfast in its mission to create a safe and informed environment for students and staff, reaffirming its dedication to social responsibility through impactful initiatives.
