MULTAN: Multan Sultans’ batting coach, Julian Wood, has voiced his disappointment over the team’s recent performance following their third consecutive loss in the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Addressing the media in Multan, Wood reflected on the team’s inability to recover from early setbacks, highlighting the critical phase in which they lost multiple wickets in quick succession during their latest match.
“We didn’t manage to gain any momentum due to the early wickets,” said Wood, offering a candid assessment of the team’s struggles. He acknowledged that following a loss, there is often a tendency to look for changes, but cautioned that no team can perform well consistently if it is constantly searching for quick fixes.
Wood’s comments came amid mounting frustration over the team’s performance, particularly as expectations for the Sultans continue to rise. The coach, however, offered an apology to the team’s fans, expressing regret for their inability to deliver the results that supporters had hoped for. “I apologize to the fans. We haven’t been able to produce good results,” Wood admitted, echoing the disappointment felt by many.
Despite the recent setbacks, Wood remained optimistic about the team’s ability to turn things around. “We will work on our shortcomings,” he said, emphasizing the need for improvement. However, he also acknowledged that the team has yet to find a way to bounce back after their first defeat in the tournament, a challenge that continues to hinder their campaign.
