SUKKUR: Assistant Commissioner Khairpur, Arslan Hyder Phulpoto, conducted a raid on Tuesday that resulted in the sealing of a cement outlet found to be selling adulterated cement bags. This operation was initiated following directives from Deputy Commissioner Khairpur, Syed Ahmed Fawad Shah, who emphasized the need for stringent measures against both adulteration and the mafias engaged in overcharging consumers.
During his inspection, Assistant Commissioner Phulpoto expressed his commitment to maintaining the integrity of local markets and protecting consumer rights. The sealing of the cement outlet is a part of a broader crackdown aimed at ensuring fair pricing and quality in essential goods, reflecting the administration’s zero-tolerance approach towards malpractice.
In addition to the cement outlet inspection, Phulpoto also visited several shops engaged in the illegal sale of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the areas of Therhi, Ubhari, Baberloi, and within Khairpur city itself. During these visits, he issued directives for the immediate relocation of LPG outlets situated in residential areas to mitigate safety risks and potential hazards associated with gas sales in such locales. His firm stance underscores the administration’s priority on public safety and regulatory compliance, as well as its commitment to ensuring that local businesses operate within legal and safe parameters.
