KARACHI: In a significant legal development, all accused in a case registered by the police under alleged false pretenses have been acquitted. The case, filed at the Artillery Maidan Police Station with FIR No. 139/23, had implicated Nasir Aziz, Illahi Bux Bikak, Wahab Baloch, and Saeed Baloch in a case of mutiny and incitement against the state, purportedly due to their participation in raising slogans and leading a mob of 24-260 people in support of Dr. Mahrang Baloch.
The accusations included charges under sections 153-A, 131, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). The prosecution’s claims were based on the alleged slogans “Ye Jo Dahshat Gardi Hai Us Ki Peshgi Wardi Hai,” intended to imply anti-state sentiments and mutiny. Despite these serious charges, the prosecution failed to present credible evidence. Upon being named in the FIR, the accused sought pre-arrest bail from the District and Sessions Court South under Section 498 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). The bail was granted, and the accused faced the trial with consistent respect for the court, despite numerous delays and prolongation tactics aimed at stalling proceedings.
The trial concluded on August 23, 2024, with the Honorable VIII Additional District and Sessions Judge South, Ahsan Malik, delivering the verdict. The court found no substantive evidence against the accused and, as a result, acquitted all the individuals involved in the case. This acquittal marks a pivotal moment in the legal journey of Nasir Aziz, Illahi Bux Bikak, Wahab Baloch, and Saeed Baloch, reaffirming their innocence and highlighting the importance of evidence-based justice in upholding the rule of law.
