KARACHI: Afaq Ahmed, leader of the Muhajir Qaumi Movement (MQM), has criticized the ruling parties for their role in the imposition of exorbitant electricity bills, calling their demands from the government farcical. Afaq Ahmed questioned who is being deceived by these tactics, suggesting that such actions are incomprehensible and misleading.
In a meeting with organizational officials and social leaders from Hyderabad, including Sharif Bhai, Moeen Bhai, and Ghulam Nabi Nagori Bhai, Afaq Ahmed denounced the government’s handling of rampant inflation and the burden of extra electricity bills on the public. He asserted that all parties within the government are complicit in this injustice, as they remain in power while only offering verbal criticisms of the government to avoid public backlash.
Afaq Ahmed emphasized that the ruling parties should separate themselves from the government to genuinely support the public. He highlighted that when a government deprives people of their basic rights, including the right to live, the only option left is to pursue revolutionary change. He further criticized the ruling parties for their absurd demands from the government, noting that while globally demands are made by the public or opposition parties, Pakistan’s unique system sees the government making demands against itself.
