KARACHI: Airline fares in Pakistan have risen sharply following an increase in jet fuel prices.
Sources reported that one-way fares from Karachi to Lahore and Islamabad have increased by up to PKR 10,000, with the Karachi–Islamabad/Lahore one-way fare now exceeding PKR 50,000.
International ticket prices have also surged. One-way fares to the Middle East have risen by up to PKR 20,000, with economy class tickets to Dubai, Doha, and Saudi Arabia exceeding PKR 400,000.
Flights from Pakistan to Paris, Toronto, and Manchester have also seen significant fare increases.
