DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The annual elections of the Dera Press Club (Registered) were concluded in an atmosphere of harmony and mutual understanding, resulting in the election of Ahmed Khan Kamrani as President and Naveed Sultan as General Secretary.
The annual general meeting, presided over by outgoing President Muhammad Yaseen Qureshi, was attended by a large number of members. Qureshi presented the performance report of the past year, which was unanimously approved. Following tradition, the chair proposed Kamrani and Sultan for the new leadership, and both were endorsed by majority vote.
The newly elected cabinet includes Muhammad Ramzan Simab as Senior Vice President, Sohail Gangohi and Muhammad Farooq Baloch as Vice Presidents, Abdul Majeed Barki as Additional General Secretary, Gohar Ghuncha as Joint Secretary, Muhammad Usman as Finance Secretary, and Hafiz Saad Sohail as Press Secretary.
Addressing members, Kamrani thanked them for their trust, saying the cabinet would collectively uphold its responsibilities. He emphasised that no compromise would be made on discipline to strengthen the institution. He also pledged to work for the welfare of journalists, secure funds, and establish a Media Colony to address the community’s long-standing issues.
