TANK: An Anti-Drug Awareness Seminar was held at Captain Shaheed Ashfaq Government Degree College in Tank as part of the provincial government’s ongoing public agenda to combat substance abuse.
The event was jointly organized by the District Administration Tank, the District Youth Office, and the college administration, reflecting a coordinated effort to raise awareness among young people. The seminar was attended by Assistant Commissioner Jandola, the District Youth Officer, the District Attorney of Tank, the college principal, faculty members, and a large gathering of students.
Speakers at the event highlighted the alarming rise in drug use among youth and examined its far-reaching consequences, including legal repercussions, health risks, and social impacts. They urged students to take an active role in their communities, becoming advocates for a drug-free society and promoting awareness among their peers.
Officials from the district administration reiterated their commitment to combating drug abuse through a combination of awareness campaigns, community engagement initiatives, and close coordination with law enforcement agencies. They emphasized that the youth are the backbone of the nation, and safeguarding them from the dangers of narcotics is a shared responsibility requiring vigilance, education, and proactive action.
The seminar concluded with a call to action for students to embrace social responsibility and lead by example in the fight against drugs. Organizers expressed hope that initiatives like these would create a lasting impact, fostering a safer, healthier, and drug-free environment in Tank, and inspiring similar efforts across the province.
