LAKKI MARWAT: A police head constable was killed and six others, including the Station House Officer (SHO), were injured in a suicide attack on a police mobile van near Katokhel Adda on Monday, officials said.

According to police, the van was on routine patrol in the jurisdiction of Tajori Police Station when two attackers approached. One detonated an explosive close to the vehicle, killing Head Constable Alauddin and wounding six others, including the SHO, while the second attacker fled the scene.

Security forces arrived promptly, transporting the fallen officer and injured personnel to a nearby hospital. The area was sealed off for investigation, and evidence was collected from the site. A search operation was launched to locate the fleeing attacker, and security measures in surrounding areas were reinforced.

Deputy Commissioner Lakki Marwat visited the hospital to check on the injured officers, directing the administration to provide the best possible care. Accompanied by ADC General, AC Headquarters, and AC Betni, the DC praised the medical staff for their service and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured personnel.

The attack comes amid ongoing security concerns in the region, underscoring the risks faced by law enforcement officers on routine duty.
