Bokhari described the situation as a battle for control within the party, which she believes reflects a broader attempt to destabilize the country through propaganda
LAHORE: On Saturday, Information Minister of Punjab, Azma Bokhari, criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its founder, Imran Khan, for allegedly shifting their tactics to portray themselves as victims in the face of legal and political challenges. In a statement, Bokhari accused PTI of manipulating public sentiment by playing the victimhood card, a strategy she claimed follows their earlier use of religious and treason themes for political gain.
Bokhari alleged that Imran Khan, in his attempts to evade jail, has alternately sought forgiveness from the military and appealed to the British Prime Minister. Now, according to Bokhari, Khan is attempting to garner public sympathy by portraying himself as a victim of political persecution. She highlighted the internal discord within PTI, noting that discussions about the power struggle between Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, and his sister have become a topic of conversation on social media platforms like WhatsApp.
Bokhari described the situation as a battle for control within the party, which she believes reflects a broader attempt to destabilize the country through propaganda. She further criticized PTI for its alleged efforts to spread chaos and create division. “Nothing can be ruled out when it comes to the propaganda by the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi,” she stated. Bokhari accused Khan of preparing lists to target his opponents during his tenure as Prime Minister, suggesting that the current actions of Khan and his wife are a continuation of such tactics, albeit from a position of vulnerability.
