LAHORE: On Friday, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari launched a pointed critique against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), addressing several issues related to the party’s recent activities and financial struggles. Bukhari revisited the events of May 9, asserting that the PTI cannot alter the historical record of that day, which she referred to as “mayhem.”
She accused the PTI of engaging in anarchy and suggested that the party’s attempts to garner foreign funding through protests and public gatherings had failed. Bukhari argued that the PTI’s financial difficulties stemmed from its failure to organize these events over the past year, which she claimed had been a primary source of revenue.
Additionally, Bukhari took aim at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government, criticizing it for a video featuring Ali Amin Gandapur, where he was seen distributing Rs5,000 notes. She described this as a direct blow to the KP government, implying it reflects poorly on their governance and financial practices. Her remarks underscore ongoing tensions between the provincial government and the PTI, highlighting the political and financial challenges faced by the party amid its turbulent period.
