Balochistan CM Bugti condemns the exploitation of peaceful protests to perpetrate violence, where reports indicated that ordinary citizens were abducted and women used as shields

QUETTA: Chief Minister of Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti has unequivocally committed to combating any attempts to destabilize the province, reaffirming the government’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism and extremism. Addressing the Martyrs’ Day ceremony, Bugti emphasized the province’s resolute stand against forces aiming to undermine Balochistan’s stability.

“We won’t spare those who aim to weaken Balochistan,” Bugti declared, highlighting that true honor lies with the families of the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the nation. “The martyrs are remembered every day of the year,” he said, underscoring their enduring significance to the country. In his speech, Bugti reviewed the myriad challenges faced by Balochistan, acknowledging past attempts to destabilize the province through terrorism. “Numerous conspiracies have been attempted in our country, but the nation has robustly defended against the fault lines of terrorism,” he stated. Reflecting on Balochistan’s troubled history, he added, “We have avenged the blood of our martyrs.”

The Chief Minister noted that terrorism in Balochistan has been driven by both religious and nationalist motives. He reassured that the provincial police and Levies forces are well-prepared to tackle these threats. “Those who take up arms will be confronted directly,” he warned. Bugti also condemned the exploitation of peaceful protests to perpetrate violence, where reports indicated that ordinary citizens were abducted and women used as shields, thus violating local traditions.

“This fight is not just for the police but for all of us,” Bugti asserted, calling for a unified effort to counter divisive forces. He expressed solidarity with the families of the fallen heroes, pledging that the government would do everything possible to support them. “Our martyrs are fortunate to have sacrificed their blood for this country,” Bugti affirmed, vowing to eradicate terrorism from Pakistan and confidently declaring that “Pakistan will always endure.”
