DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A delegation of lawyers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, led by Sardar Hashmat Nawaz Sadozai, Advocate and member of the KP Bar Council as well as leader of the Peoples Lawyers Forum, called on Governor Faisal Karim Kundi at Governor House in Peshawar.
The meeting provided a platform for dialogue on enhancing cooperation between the judiciary and the legal fraternity, professional development of lawyers, and broader issues concerning the justice sector. During the discussions, Governor Kundi emphasized the critical role of the legal community as a cornerstone of the justice system.
Governor Kundi assured the delegation that the government remained committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen coordination between the bar and the bench. Highlighting the government’s priorities, he stressed that upholding the rule of law and ensuring the timely delivery of justice to the public were central to the administration’s agenda.
The Governor also commended the efforts of the Peoples Lawyers Forum for promoting legal awareness and contributing positively to the justice sector. He recognized that active engagement between lawyers and judicial institutions is essential for maintaining public trust in the legal system.
Sardar Hashmat Nawaz Sadozai briefed Governor Kundi on the challenges currently faced by lawyers in the province, outlining the Bar Council’s ongoing activities aimed at professional training, capacity building, and support for the legal community.
The delegation and the Governor agreed that continued dialogue and collaboration between the bar and government institutions are key to ensuring an efficient, responsive, and transparent justice system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting concluded with mutual commitment to strengthen professional engagement, uphold legal standards, and address the evolving needs of the province’s legal fraternity.
