
KARACHI: The Bazm-e-Shoraa-e-Bar Karachi hosted its second annual “Mehfil-e-Musalama” at the Jinnah Auditorium of Karachi Bar Association, District Courts, Karachi. The event, held under the leadership of Mr. Shoukat Kamal Cheema, founder and chairman of Bazm-e-Shoraa-e-Bar Karachi, served as a heartfelt tribute to Hazrat Imaam Hussain and his profound sacrifice for Islam through the medium of poetry. The program was meticulously coordinated by Yasir Chughtai, the General Secretary of Bazm-e-Shoraa-e-Bar Karachi.
The gathering was graced by Syed Firasat Rizvi, a distinguished literary figure, poet, writer, and researcher, who presided over the event. The presence of chief guests Mr. Ronaq Hayat, Fayyaz Ali Fayyaz, Khalid Moin, and Dr. Ambareen Haseeb Amber added considerable prestige to the occasion. Each guest contributed to the event with their unique poetic expressions, enhancing the event’s significance.

In his welcome address, Shoukat Kamal Cheema extended his heartfelt gratitude to Rizvi and the chief guests for their participation. He reflected on the journey of Bazm-e-Shoraa-e-Bar Karachi and highlighted the successes of previous events. Cheema emphasized the significance of the Mehfil-e-Musalama in honoring Hazrat Imaam Hussain, whose sacrifice remains a beacon of inspiration and adherence to Islamic principles.
The event featured evocative poetry by distinguished poets from Karachi and the legal community. Poets such as Saleem Fauz, Yasir Saeed Siddiqui, Tanveer Sukhan, Sahebzada Atiq Ur Rehman, and Nadeem Naqvi, along with advocates including Shoukat Kamal Cheema, Advocate Yasir Chughtai, Advocate Shuja Abbas Rizvi, Advocate Kamran Hashmi, Advocate Shahzad Niaz, Advocate Saddam Hussain Soomro, Advocate Shakira Tariq, and Nawab Mohsin, delivered poignant recitations that paid homage to Hazrat Imaam Hussain. The audience was profoundly moved by the touching and powerful poetry.

Syed Firasat Rizvi’s presidential speech underscored the essential role of the legal community in upholding justice and supporting the oppressed. He drew parallels between the sacrifices of Imaam Hussain and the responsibilities of legal professionals to champion the cause of justice. Rizvi also lauded Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for his pivotal role in the creation of Pakistan and expressed gratitude to the Bazm-e-Shoraa-e-Bar Karachi management for orchestrating such a significant event.
The Mehfil-e-Musalama concluded with a renewed dedication to preserving and advancing the literary and cultural heritage of Islam. The event was celebrated as a resounding success, with appreciation extended to all contributors and attendees for their role in making the occasion memorable.
