DHAKA: Chief Adviser of Bangladesh, Professor Muhammad Yunus, is set to deliver a keynote address at the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2025 in Hainan, China. His speech at the opening plenary, scheduled for 11:30 am (local time), will mark Bangladesh’s engagement at this high-level regional forum, as confirmed by Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad.
The session will also feature prominent speakers, including Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, China’s Executive Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, BFA Chairman Ban Ki-moon, and Secretary General Zhang Jun. The discussions will focus on economic cooperation, sustainable development, and regional integration. Later in the day, Prof. Yunus is scheduled to meet Qu Dongyu, Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), at 2 pm. Additionally, a bilateral meeting is set to take place between the Bangladeshi leader and former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, along with a high-level engagement with Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister.
Prof. Yunus arrived in China earlier today for a four-day official visit. His special flight landed at Qionghai Boao International Airport at approximately 4:15 pm (Bangladesh Standard Time), where he was received by Bangladesh’s Ambassador to China, Md Nazmul Islam, and the Vice Governor of Hainan Province. On the sidelines of the forum, Prof. Yunus is expected to engage with top executives of global and Chinese corporations to attract investment in Bangladesh.
