KARACHI: A targeted killing unfolded in Karachi’s Federal B Area, Block 20, when three assailants on a motorcycle opened fire, killing one man and injuring another. The victim, identified as Haider Raza, was specifically targeted in the attack, which occurred as he was riding his own motorcycle near his residence. According to the police, the assailants approached Raza and fired indiscriminately, hitting both him and an innocent bystander. Haider Raza was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
The incident has drawn significant attention due to the swift reaction of an eyewitness, a nearby shopkeeper, who described how, after the assailants fled the scene, a passing car deliberately struck the suspects’ motorcycle, causing them to fall. This intervention allowed Shahine Force personnel, who were in the vicinity, to apprehend the suspects. Authorities confirmed that the three men detained in connection with the attack are under questioning, though it is still too early to confirm whether they are directly involved in the murder.
Law enforcement agencies have recovered shell casings from the crime scene, which will likely play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation. Additionally, police are reviewing nearby CCTV footage to gather more evidence and ascertain the full details of the attack. While the police have made progress with the arrests, they are continuing to probe the motive behind the targeted killing and whether it is linked to personal or broader criminal disputes in the area.
