KARACHI: August 2: The case concerning the shooting death of worshipper Nazir Ahmed, who was killed during a robbery in front of Gulzar-e-Madina Mosque in New Karachi Sector 11-E, has been resolved. Nazir Ahmed, son of Allah Dino, was fatally shot while he was on the mosque’s balcony when robbers fired shots during their heist.
According to SSP District Central, the robbers, armed with firearms, had targeted a citizen named Shafqat, who was withdrawing cash from a bank. The robbers fired shots in the air, one of which struck Nazir Ahmed, resulting in his death.
Last night, after a confrontation with the New Karachi police, the wounded suspect Raheel, son of Farooq, was arrested and found to be involved in the Gulzar-e-Madina Mosque robbery. During interrogation, Raheel made shocking revelations, naming his accomplices as Hamza alias Chintu, Umair alias Malik, and Hamza alias Mosi. Raheel’s identity was also confirmed through CCTV footage. Another member of the gang, Sabir, son of Shahid, was killed during a police encounter with the New Karachi police.
Further interrogation of the arrested suspect is ongoing.
