BEIJING: China has opposed any attempt to target Mojtaba Khamenei, following his appointment as the new supreme leader of Iran.
Reacting to the development, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China said the appointment of Iran’s new supreme leader is an internal and constitutional matter of Iran.
The spokesperson added that China firmly opposes interference in the internal affairs of other countries under any pretext.
