DOHA: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of Pakistan, recently arrived in Doha for a significant official visit aimed at strengthening the military and strategic ties between Pakistan and Qatar. The visit, marked by high-level discussions with key Qatari officials, comes at a time when the regional security landscape is rapidly evolving, and both nations are seeking to bolster their cooperation in defense and security matters.
During his time in Doha, General Mirza engaged in crucial talks with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman, as well as the country’s Minister of Defence and Chief of Staff. These meetings were centered around enhancing bilateral military relations, with a particular focus on how the two countries could collaborate more effectively to address the complex security challenges that continue to shape the region. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both sides agreed on the need to further solidify their defense cooperation, recognizing that regional stability hinges on mutual support and collaboration between military forces.
The discussions also provided an opportunity for General Mirza to reaffirm Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to strengthening military ties with Qatar, underlining the importance of mutual cooperation in maintaining peace and security.
