KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated new healthcare facilities at Memon Medical Institute (MMI) Hospital, marking a major step in the province’s drive to strengthen public health services.
During the ceremony, he officially opened the Ibn Sina Ward, Ibn al-Haytham Ward, and the Al-Shifa Outpatient Department (OPD). The expansion was described as an important milestone for improving patient care and comfort. The chief minister said the upgraded facilities were designed to ensure patients received treatment with dignity and ease, reflecting the government’s ongoing commitment to public welfare.
Murad Ali Shah emphasized that healthcare improvements should not focus solely on treatment. He highlighted the importance of the overall experience for patients and their families, noting that modern infrastructure and well-managed wards could make a real difference in everyday medical care.
He also pointed to the role of public-private collaboration in enhancing healthcare services. Partnerships between the government and institutions such as MMI Hospital, he said, were essential for building a healthier and more resilient Sindh. The chief minister expressed the provincial government’s commitment to initiatives that promote compassion, professional excellence, and equitable access to medical care for all communities.
Murad Ali Shah further stressed the link between education and healthcare as foundational pillars of a prosperous society. He noted that institutions like MMI Hospital served a dual purpose. Beyond providing professional medical care, they supported vulnerable populations through welfare programs, demonstrating a wider commitment to social development.
